Medical Coats

The lab coat is the medical practitioner's most important
furnishing, yet little attention has been paid to the quality
of the lab coat...until now. Under the ownership of a practicing physician, On Call Medical Coats has partnered with
Aetna Shirt, an American manufacturer of international designer-quality men's dress and formal shirts, to produce the finest white coats available.
We are not re-sellers of mass-produced commodity-grade lab
coats made by any third party, and no third parties or uniform stores re-sell our coats. We make our own lab coats to
a higher standard of quality, and we only sell direct to the profession.
Our lab coats have larger outside pockets, three inside pockets,
smaller stitches(more stitches per inch), reinforced pocket
corners, sewn down front facings, and topstitching of the
sleeves, shoulders and back. Our
coats are manufactured in the U.S.A. We provide
fast turnaround and personal service with every order.
Since we sew the coats from fabric, we are able to create custom sizes for a more tailored fit, including sleeve and length shortening and lengthening, extra pockets, and we can make coats in special color fabrics.

| MY
WHITE COAT RITUAL
Gregory L. Henry, MD, FACEP
James Mills MD Memorial Lecture
American College of Emergency Physicians
1998 Scientific Assembly
San Diego, California
Every time I put on the [white] coat, I stop for
two minutes. I stop for two minutes and remember Galen
and Hippocrates. I pick up the coat: "to whatever
house I shall enter, it shall be for the benefit of
the sick." At that moment I am Doctor of Medicine;
I carry with me a 2500 year tradition, and shame on
me if I do not carry it out with dignity for the next
eight hours. My problems are not the patient's problems.
For that period of time, I am the agent and servant
of the patient - I am proud to be the servant of the
sick. I put on that coat and I'm a better person.
All my petty prejudices should disappear when the
coat goes on. That's what the coat is all about. |
